Surfer riding a barrel wave

Stop chasing swells.
Start scoring waves.

Every swell, every variable, distilled into one score that actually means something. Find waves worth traveling for.

The old way is a gamble

We've all been there. Here's why the traditional approach to surf travel sets you up for disappointment.

The Old Way

Book 6 months ahead

Lock in dates based on "best season" averages. Hope the swell gods are listening.

Fly and pray

Arrive at your destination. Check the forecast nervously. Realize it's going flat in 2 days.

Often disappointed

Expensive trip. Mediocre waves. Stories about "you should have been here last week."

50/50 chance of scoring
The Strike Mission Way

Book time off work

Keep your dates flexible. Have a window of availability. The waves will tell you when to go.

Watch global conditions

Monitor Strike Scores across multiple destinations. Wait for high-confidence forecasts to align.

Strike when it's firing

Book flights 5-7 days out. Arrive when conditions are confirmed. Dramatically better odds.

Score every time
Flexibility is your superpower.
Why It's Different

The whole day, not just dawn patrol

Most surf apps tell you what's happening at 7am. Strike Mission tells you whether the whole day is worth it.

Sound familiar?

You organised the dawn patrol on the promise of offshore winds. Got to the beach to find it still junky. Drove home disappointed. Then your mate texts at 11am: "Bro, it just cleaned up. Pumping."

Hour-by-hour forecasts are great when you're already local. But when you're planning to take a day off work, book a flight, or drive three hours up the coast — you need to know if the entire day delivers, not just the first light window.

One score for the full day

Swell, wind, and timing — averaged and weighted across the whole day into a single Strike Score. Commit with confidence, not hope.

6am–6pm conditions, one number

Multi-day trip finder

Find the 2, 3, or 5-day stretch where everything lines up — whether it's a point break up the coast or a world-class reef you've had on your radar for years.

Don't gamble on a single window

Your spots, your way

Add your own custom spots or tweak swell preferences on existing ones. You know your breaks better than any algorithm — so we let you fine-tune what "firing" means for each wave.

How It Works

Four steps to scoring

Strike Mission flips the script on surf travel. Instead of hoping, you're knowing.

01

Track Your Targets

Add your bucket-list destinations and local favorites. We monitor conditions for verified spots across the globe, from iconic reef passes to hidden beachbreaks.

02

Watch the Scores

Strike Scores update daily across a 10-day window. See exactly when conditions align for each spot—swell, wind, and confidence all in one number.

03

Get Notified

Set your threshold. When a spot hits 75+ (Firing) or 85+ (Epic), you'll know. No more refreshing forecasts obsessively.

04

Strike

Book with confidence. You're not gambling on seasonal averages—you're arriving when conditions are confirmed and firing.

The Algorithm

Strike Score: 0-100

One number that tells you everything. Calculated from four core components, adjusted for real-world conditions.

035607585100
POOR
0-34

Save your energy for another day.

OK
35-59

Surfable but not special.

GOOD
60-74

Solid surf. You'll have fun.

FIRING
75-84

Excellent conditions. Worth the trip.

EPIC
85-100

Drop everything. This is what you came for.

Four components. 100 points total.

25 pts

Swell Direction

Is the swell hitting the spot at the optimal angle?

25 pts

Swell Size

Is the wave height in the sweet spot for this break?

25 pts

Swell Period

Is there enough groundswell energy for quality waves?

25 pts

Wind Conditions

Is the wind offshore, glassy, or manageable?

Real-world adjustments

Groomed Conditions Bonus

Days of prior offshore wind create clean, groomed conditions. The score reflects this hidden quality factor.

Morning Sickness Penalty

Days of onshore wind leave residual chop even when wind turns offshore. We account for this lag.

Built by someone who's been there

I've spent more time refreshing forecast tabs at 3am than I care to admit. Strike Mission exists so you don't have to.

Barrel Daithwaite built Strike Mission after one too many trips where the swell window shifted and he watched ankle-slappers for a week. Now he's on a mission to help surfers maximize epic sessions and minimize flat-spell heartbreak.
