Best Surf Trips from Dallas
DFW puts warm-water waves within reach if you let the forecast pick the coast.
25 spots featured
Dallas has one of the best inland-airport setups for surf travel. DFW reaches Mexico quickly, connects well into Central America, and still keeps Hawaii and the Caribbean realistic for a full-week strike mission.
Mexico is the obvious first filter: Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and the Oaxaca coast all become realistic when the Pacific is active. Costa Rica and El Salvador are strong warm-water alternatives for intermediate surfers who want consistency. Puerto Rico becomes attractive when Atlantic swell is clean and the travel window is short.
The advantage from Dallas is optionality. Instead of forcing the same annual surf trip every year, keep several reachable regions in play and wait for the forecast to nominate the winner.
