Takezaki Beach

Takezaki is surfing at the edge of space—literally. This quality beachbreak sits beneath sandstone cliffs near JAXA's Tanegashima Space Center, where you can catch waves with rocket launch pads visible in the background. The island is considered Japan's best surf destination, with its long narrow shape catching swells from both the Pacific and East China Sea.
